Fetal Echocardiogram

Fetal echocardiogram is a type of ultrasound that is used to examine the heart of a foetus. Your doctor will be able to view the anatomy and action of your newborn heart with this test. It's mainly performed around 18 and 24 weeks of the third pregnancy ultrasonic Sound waves "echo" off the valves of the patient's heart during the scan. These acoustic waves are examined by a device that produces an image of the heart's structure, known as an echocardiogram.
